Before COVID, Uncle John and Aunt Joann used to invite us to visit them on their annual get-away to Hilton Head Island, SC. I’ll always cherish the warm summer days when Aunt Joann and I would sunbathe while Uncle John relaxed in his favorite pool float for hours and hours, usually blissfully enjoying his book. John, Joann, my dad, Jack, and I would then finish the day by heading out to a nice dinner. One of our favorites was Desposito’s in Savannah, GA. We would all sit around the newspaper-covered table, laughing, smiling, and tearing through pounds of the best crab legs. The next day, we’d wake up and do it all over again!
My time with Uncle John will forever be a reminder to cherish life with the ones we love. He was a world-traveling, fun-loving, passionate, and brilliant guy who was an inspiration to everyone he met, and I am eternally grateful that I got to experience this life with him.
With Love Always, Grace
